My Top Apps for Working Out and Staying Healthy

Hi! Welcome back to my blog!

Since it’s still early January I know everyone is making and working towards their new year resolutions. One of the most popular resolutions year and year again is wanting to lose weight or get more healthy. One of my constant goals is to keep up an active and healthy lifestyle. Instead of setting a goal and forgetting about it, setting up plans to achieve your goals is very important. Things like apps that can keep you on track with your workouts and health journey can be super helpful. So, today I’m sharing with you my top apps for working out and staying healthy!

I wrote a blog post a few months ago about doing the Bikini Body Guide by Kayla Itsines. Back then, I was using the printed out PDFs that I have. Now there is the SWEAT app where you can access BBG and BBG Stronger by Kayla, as well as a few other programs by other trainers! This app is great if you want to do at home workouts or have guidance while in the gym. There’s an option on there for everyone! The one downside is that you do have to pay for the subscription. I have been using it on a free 3-month trial I received from a sponsored Instagram post I did. I will say that I do see its value and think that if you like the programs within the app then the subscription is definitely worth it.

If you like to run, this app is great! If you don’t like to run but want to get into it, this app is still great! I originally downloaded this app because a fitness blogger I follow, Hannah,  said that was what app she used to track runs with her Apple Watch. The more I’ve used this app the more I love it! It syncs perfectly with my watch and I can track my runs both outside and on a treadmill. If you don’t have an Apple Watch you can still use this app. Just make sure to have your phone in your hand or pocket while you run and it tracks you! The app also has guided audio runs which I’ve used a couple of times. I find them super fun if you’re not fully feeling running or if you’re new to the sport!

One of my favorite features on my old Fitbit was the sleep tracking feature. When I switched to the Apple Watch one of the first things I did was research the best sleep tracking apps for it.  I found the app Pillow to have good reviews and started using that. Sleep is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle and keeping track of exactly how much (and how well) you’re sleeping is so helpful. I’m not entirely sure if you can use this app without a watch but if you can’t I’m certain there is at least one other sleep tracking app that you can use with just your phone.

This app I recently downloaded! This app is such a cute way to make sure that you’re getting enough water. You get to plant a virtual plant and then log every time you drink water. This is how you “water” your plant! The app calculates how much you need to drink based on your weight and activity level and will send you reminders when your plant (or really, you) needs more water. If you’re someone who always forgets to drink water throughout the day then this app is perfect for you.

These are my top 4 apps to get in your workouts and keep up a healthy lifestyle! If you have any other apps that you use to stay healthy, be sure to leave it in a comment below!
