Hi! Welcome back to my blog!
Now that I’m back at school I wanted to write some more college content on here! Today I’m sharing a grocery haul! A couple of the items I’m sharing I bought at Target a few days prior, but the bulk is from my local grocery store.
I have a meal plan at school so I typically don’t need to buy too much food, but since I’m here for winter term my meal plan is running out and I’m planning on cooking more this week. Since I got more food than just snacks I thought this was a perfect week to share what I bought.
FOOD FOR THE FREEZER
- Chicken breasts
- Sliced mozzarella cheese
- Carrot veggie spirals
- Frozen berries
- Black bean burgers
For starters, yes. I freeze my cheese. I never realized that was considered weird until I got to college and my roommates were so confused that I put it in the freezer. Anyone else who does this? I can’t be the only one! Also, I grabbed some carrot veggie spirals. Typically I buy the zoodles but the grocery store was out of them so I decided to try the carrot ones! The rest is pretty standard stuff. I got some chicken breasts and bean burgers for lunches and dinners, and some frozen fruit to make smoothies.
- Green olives
- Red onion
- Green bell pepper
One of my go-to breakfasts is Oikos greek yogurt with strawberries. I didn’t buy any yogurt since I still have some from last week, but I did need more strawberries. I also grabbed a few apples to have as snacks or for breakfast. I also got a few green olives from the olive bar to have with meals or as a snack. Lastly, I got a green bell pepper and some red onion to have for cooking throughout the week.
- Pita chips
My current class is from 8:30am to 11:30am so I usually get hungry in the middle of it. Since it’s pretty early in the morning when we have a break I like to bring nuts to have as a snack. I also picked up a bag of pita chips to have throughout the week and probably next week as well since it’s a big bag.
- Whole grain pasta
- Hamburger buns
- Natural peanut butter
I didn’t know how to categorize these foods so I put them into their own miscellaneous group. I got some pasta to have on hand for dinners, as well as eggs to have on hand for breakfast. I also am running low on peanut butter and grabbed some more. I love the Smuckers All Natural Creamy Peanut Butter. Lastly, I grabbed some buns for my bean burgers! I tried to find a wheat option but the store didn’t have any so I got the Ball Park brand buns.
There you have it! I hope you guys enjoyed seeing what kind of food I get for myself while at school. I’ve also been considering writing a “What I Eat in a Day” post so let me know if you would want to read that!
