Hey hey! Welcome back to my blog!
I feel like I haven’t written much about my life and what’s been going on in a long time so I figured I would share a little life update with you guys today!
May was such a crazy month for me. I was very stressed for a big part of it since I had finals, so move out was very beneficial for me. The main reason I was stressed was that one of my classes had a very different grading scale than the others. It was a 12-point scale so a 93 and up was an A and a 92 was a B. Throughout the whole semester I teetered on the line between 92 and 93 so the final exam was very important for my grade. I spent hours studying for the final (which I needed a 94 on) and it paid off because I ended with an A in the class! I was so happy and relieved when I found out!
Right now my boyfriend, Mitchell, has been with us in Rhode Island for the past few weeks. He came with us when I moved out of school and is here for another week or so. We’ve done so much lately! We have traveled to Boston twice, gone to the beach, and ate at lots of good, classic Rhode Island restaurants! We’ve been having a very busy couple of weeks trying to fit everything in! We also got to catch a Red Sox game which was a really fun experience. Mitchell had never been to Fenway and I had only been once before when I was a kid so it was so fun. The Sox also won which was great!
In Boston, I even tried my first ever cannoli! As someone with an Italian heritage, it was basically blasphemous that I had never eaten a cannoli, so it was long overdue. We went to Mike’s Pastry in the North End and I got the classic chocolate chip cannoli. It was honestly one of the best desserts I have ever had. I’m lactose intolerant so I was always afraid to eat them because of the cream but I luckily had a Lactase supplement in my bag so I was able to enjoy it. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend Mike’s Pastry. They have so many amazing desserts to choose from!
Now for my summer plans! This summer I’ll be working two jobs. I have an internship at a local Marketing/Communications firm which I am so excited about! My internship is unpaid, so I also picked up a hostess job at a restaurant near me to earn some money this summer. My best friend works there as well so it’s pretty fun.
Currently, I have no travel plans for the summer. I am hoping to go down to North Carolina sometime in July to get my apartment set up and visit friends, though. I’d love to go on a vacation somewhere cool this summer, but I’m not sure if that’ll happen haha!
Overall, summer so far has been so fun! My internship just started this week and I’m very excited to see what kinds of things I learn over the next couple of months. What are you up to this summer? Let me know! Also, if you liked this post, be sure to head to my homepage and subscribe to emails and follow me on Instagram @mainly.mackenzie!
Happy Summer to you!!! That’s got to be the best to have Mitchell there, too!
