Happy Fall! This is my absolute favorite time of year, so I am super excited! With COVID still rampant here in the U.S. I wanted to share some activities you can do this year that are fun but also safe. All of these activities can be done either at home or in your car, or outside where it is easy to social distance. They’re perfect for this year, but also great for any year where you just want a fun activity to do with your family! Enjoy!
HAVE A COZY NIGHT IN WITH BIG BLANKETS AND YOUR FAVORITE FALL MOVIE
This is the perfect activity to do because you’ll be at home and away from everyone! Grab some snacks, put on your fuzzy socks, and turn on your favorite fall movie! If it’s not too cold where you are, you could also use a projector and make a mini theater in your backyard for extra fun.
GO FOR A HIKE
Hiking is a great socially distant activity that will get you out of the house and help you get in some exercise. Just don’t forget to wear your orange during hunting season!
GRAB A PSL OR YOUR FAVE FALL DRINK AND GO FOR A SCENIC DRIVE
This is a great activity to get out of the house while still staying in a bit of a bubble. Swing through the Starbucks drive-through or run to your favorite local coffee spot to pick up a tasty fall drink, then spend some time driving around enjoying the fall foliage in the area! This is such a fun activity to do with a friend or even completely alone.
GO TO THE DRIVE-IN THEATER
Drive-in theaters have been making a comeback lately, and now is the perfect time to go to one! You get to enjoy the movie-going experience without having to leave your car, which means you can bring any snacks you want – score!
PICK A PUMPKIN AT A PUMPKIN PATCH
Head to your local pumpkin patch and pick out a pumpkin! This outdoor activity should be pretty easy to social distance since pumpkin patches are generally pretty big fields. You can then take your pumpkin home and make jack-o-lanterns which is always a fun activity!
BAKE A FALL PIE/DESSERT WITH YOUR FAMILY
Who doesn’t love baking? Fall is such a perfect time of year to bake. There are so many fall themed treats you can choose from! Grab your mom, your brother, your grandma, your dad, your dog, or whoever and spend an afternoon baking! It’s fun and you get a sweet treat when you’re done!
GO APPLE PICKING
The best part about outdoor activities is that it’s pretty easy to keep your distance from other people. Grab your masks and your coats and head to the local apple orchard for a fun afternoon of apple picking! You can even use those apples to bake a pie afterwards!
The best part of fall is doing fun fall themed activities. Luckily there’s still plenty you can do while staying safe this year! What socially distant fall activity are you looking forward to most?
