5 Things To Do When You’re Having a Bad Day

Hey there reader! Long time, no talk. This is the first blog post I’ve published since September 2021…oops. But I’m back and I’m ready to get back into sharing more content on here to help you with your personal growth journey! Let’s get into today’s post:

Everyone has bad days. Even though they’re perfectly normal and common, they still suck. When you’re having a bad day, all you might want to do is curl up with a blanket and just hide out until it’s over. While that’s totally fine, some days you want to try and help make things better! That’s where I’m here to help. Today I’m sharing 5 things you can do to help yourself feel a little bit better on a bad day. Enjoy!

1. LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND REPEAT SOME AFFIRMATIONS

I love affirmations, I think they’re so great! I always like to look at myself in the mirror and do some affirmations (even if it’s just in my head and not actually speaking) to help boost my confidence. Doing these on a bad day makes them even more powerful. Whatever it is you’re dealing with that day, try to think of some affirmations you can repeat to yourself to help you get into a slightly better mindset. Even if you don’t 100% believe them at the moment, the more you do these the more you will!

2. TURN ON YOUR FAVORITE SONG AND HAVE A DANCE PARTY

Nothing beats getting negative energy out through a dance party. Throw on your fave song or playlist and move. I guarantee you’ll find at least a slight smile on your face in no time with this trick!

3. MAKE A LIST OF 3 GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPENED THAT DAY

One of my favorite quotes is “every day may not be good but there’s something good in every day.” It’s so true! Not every day is going to be the best day of your life, but if you take 5 minutes to sit down and think about it, I bet you’ll be able to find a few things that happened that were really good, no matter how big or small. Appreciating the little things and getting into that habit will help make even your worst days feel a little less bad.

4. CLOSE YOUR EYES AND RELAX FOR A FEW MINUTES

I truly believe naps are magic. Whenever I feel sad, mad, overwhelmed, etc. I love to curl up on the couch and take a nap, even if it’s just 15 minutes. I always wake up feeling better, and the problem I had before really does feel smaller!

5. LET IT ALL OUT IN A JOURNAL

Whether it’s by writing, drawing, scribbling, etc. getting all of your feelings out of your head and onto some paper can be a great way to help let go of your bad day. I keep a journal by my bed that I write in, and I always make sure I set aside time for it when I’m having a bad day. Being able to make sense of your feelings by writing things down can help you work through things and get on your way to feeling happier!

The next time you’re having a bad day, try out some of these tricks and I promise you’ll start feeling better quickly! Which do you prefer to do on a bad day? Let me know in a comment!
